negative latency

Hi all,

I've been working on latency measurments lately, and
got decent results with the 'Kernel example' of the
the rtai-testsuite. From what I've seen on the forum,
it is common to get a negative minimum value, but I
can't see why.  Does it mean that the RT thread is
able to start 'before' the timer tick ?   How is it
possible ?  The most surprising thing to me was that I
also got a negative value for the average latency...

I've been carrying out the measurments in
one-shot-mode, with 1CPU (intel PII).
