Build problem

Hi,
Trying to build with linux-2.6.9 and vesuvio
GCC is 3.3.5 with a P4, Linux is Debian sarge
Using the prepatched tar file
Linux build went just fine and system boots, so far everything looks in
order
when trying to build rtai, configure complains
checking for RTAI Kconfig file... .rtai_config (supplied)
checking for module installation directory... ${exec_prefix}/modules
checking for Linux source tree... /usr/src/linux (kernel 2.6.9-SMP)
checking for RTAI base technology...
configure: error: HAL patch not applied/enabled in /usr/src/linux
make: *** [config.status] Error 1
rampart:/usr/src/rtai#
Is there another patch to apply? Would it be better to start with a
clean kernel source and apply the patch file? Or did I miss a config
option when building the kernel?
This is my first venture into the world of RT Linux. A quick comment
-- the info provided, organization, and layout of all the web pages,
technical detail is outstanding, and most helpful.
Regards
John W
