LXRT 3.0r4 semaphore question

Hello,
my question is simple.
I have:
1)a real-time task with a make_hard_realtime() call
2)a few standard pthreads.
can a rtai semaphore or condition used to communicate
between the real-time task and a non real-time one?
The same: can I call rt_sem_wait() and similars from
without the rtai context?
