As you wrote,

The patch is not matching the kernel you downloaded - you should get a
maching one ...
so may i know the correct patch.
so no need to do make bzImage, only to give make and make modules_intall.
i have already linux-2.6.8 kernel tree for comedi ,
should i configure another kernel tree for RTAI,
as per your suggestion, i will try for RTAI-3.4, lets see. which kernel is
good for RTAI-3.4.
kindly suggest some better compilation steps for RTAI configuration.
