RTAI 3.3 test2 and kernel 2.4.32 - user/preempt does not terminate

 Hi Alberto,

oops, I got confused with the PCs I have for testing...
The one I use for RTAI testing (that with the Kernel Bug SMP stuff) has actually an ICH6 (8086:2640) which
is supported by the RTAI SMI tool.
However, I have a different PC (used for something else currently) that has ICH7 with
the PCI Id 8086:27b8.
The datasheet can be downloaded from the intel server (Documents 307013 and 307014).
Many registers are still the same as in ICH6.

However, I found out that some registers can be configured as "write once" which is done by the BIOS
(or something else) of the PC (it's a brand new HP workstation PC).
This means, that disabling of the Global SMI bit did no longer work.

Regards
Mathias
