RTAI 3.3 test2 - user/preempt with SMP - Kernel 2.4 vs. 2.6

Hi everybody,

as I wrote in a couple of mails, I had huge problems with the user/preempt example with an 2.4.32 kernel 
and RTAI 3.3 test2 whenever HyperThreading was enabled with my P4 PC.
For a test, I switched over (on the same PC) to the kernel 2.6.14.5 and the corresponding patch file
in the rtai directory.
Also, I took a newer gcc (3.3.5) and no longer the old 2.95
The result is now:
With kernel 2.6 also the user/preempt example works even with Hyper Threading enabled.
However, one thing is fairly strange:
The output on the console stops occasionaly for a couple of seconds and continues then later.
This looks fairly strange...
However, I am able to start *and* stop the example correctly.

Now, I wonder, what the difference in the 2.4. kernel line is?
