1. I am new to RTAI and just completed the installation and calibration of RTAI-3.5 based
on the documentation and mail list archives. I managed all this without bothering you
people much, as there is enough precedence.
2. three values are bothering me :
- RTAI[sched]: timer setup = 999 ns
- resched latency = 2944 ns.
- LATENCY_APIC 3812 (IN USE 3944)
Please let me know what they really mean and how they are related ?
How they will be used by the RTAI during run-time ?
I do not want to make any assumptions, as terminologies differ from context to context.

below is what I saw in my system:

RTAI[hal]: <3.5> mounted over IPIPE-NOTHREADS 1.5-02.
RTAI[hal]: compiled with gcc version 4.1.1 20061011 (Red Hat 4.1.1-30).
RTAI[hal]: mounted (IPIPE-NOTHREADS, IMMEDIATE (INTERNAL IRQs VECTORED), ISOL_CPUS_MASK: 0).
PIPELINE layers:

RTAI[malloc]: vmalloced extent df501000, size 2097152.
RTAI[malloc]: loaded (global heap size=2097152 bytes).
RTAI[sched]: loaded (IMMEDIATE, UP, USER/KERNEL SPACE<with RTAI TASKs>: ).
RTAI[sched]: hard timer type/freq = APIC/8333750(Hz); default timing mode is periodic; linear ordering of timed lists.
RTAI[sched]: Linux timer freq = 250 (Hz), CPU freq = 2933909000 hz.
RTAI[sched]: timer setup = 999 ns, resched latency = 2944 ns.
