Hardware interface questions

Hello,

Would someone like to kindly point out the best way to become acquainted
with RTAI and device hardware. Specifically, how are the issues of
network (e.g. wireless adapter), serial (RS-232), and A/D handled? In
other words, coming from a Simulink/XPCTarget background during the XPC
setup one identifies the ethernet controller used (hardwired and
wireless supported by Linux), which serial port (standard UARTs
supported by Linux), and an A/D card (Diamond MM32AT). How is this
equivalently setup with RTAI? Can RTAI work with multiple network
interfaces? If so how are they distinguished?

I know that some of this may all be answered if I actually install RTAI
and play with it. However, no knowing if these hardware interface
issues can be taken care of easily I am hesitant to pursue this any further.

Jah
