Hi everybody, I followed all the steps from this link:
http://www.britishideas.com/2007/11/07/how-to-install-emc2-on-unbuntu-710-gutsy-from-scratch/where
teaches how to compile the RTAI on Ubuntu 7.10.
I made it at home where I have a Pentium 4 processor and it was a success =P
but when I've tried at my work, where I have a Pentium core 2 duo, I
couldn't boot the RTAI kernel properly. When I was configuring the kernel I
chose the option: Processor type and features > Symmetric multi-processor
support (*) just like the link asks, it's the only one difference of the
steps I made at home at home.
When I enter in the directory /usr/realtime/testsuite/user/preempt and then
type the ./run the system crashes and the computer is restarted.
any suggestion???
thanks and excuse for my English
