[Rtai] porting application to new system

Hi, I have a real time application that I am porting from an older RTAI
version on a fedora core 3 base system to RTAI 3.6 on fedora core 8 with
a 2.6.23.0 kernel.

I have the real time extensions installed and have run the test
applications successfully. I recompiled the application I am porting
against the newer RTAI libraries and that seemed to go fine.

As soon as the application I'm working with puts the system in hard
realtime mode, strange things start happening. For example, the
ethernet port stops talking and all connections to the system are lost.
Keystrokes do not appear on the console very fast and when they do
show up they get repeated a seemly random number of times even though
the key was not held down.

I am hoping someone has either seen this kind of behavior before or
understands enough about how RTAI is implemented that they can point me
in the right direction to troubleshoot this problem. Knowing or having
an idea on where to start diagnosing this would be helpful. Are there
new timings or is there profiling I need to do to retune this app on
this version of RTAI??

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!!
